Please beware this is NOT rules, only RP laws which police must enforce.

General Information

Part 1: Preliminary

Section 1.1: General Information
1.1.1. This document is the official Lawbook of the State of Washington. It is to be followed by all inhabitants of the State of Washington and is in effect during the term of a Mayor who endorses the Lawbook.
1.1.2. Punishments will vary depending on the discretion of the authority involved. As a result, ticket amounts, jail times issued by arrest initiators and Judges, and arrest warrant rewards are listed only as recommendations.
1.1.3. Use common sense when interpreting these laws and please contact the Mayor if you have any suggestions to be more specific.
1.1.4. Officers must trash all illegal items/confiscating items/etc that they find.
1.1.5. Where 'reasonable evidence' is implied, this cannot include chat. You must either have a living eyewitness or witnessed it yourself. If the suspect dies doing the crime or after, you cannot arrest them or warrant them.
Part 2: Crimes and Punishments
Section 2.1: Ticketable Offenses
2.1.1. Ticketable offences are offences where the suspect can be ticketed for committing them. These offences alone cannot result in an arrest or warrant.
2.1.2. Current ticketable offences include: Possession of 1 unlicensed weapon. 150bb per unlicensed weapon. Disturbing the peace, such as shooting a weapon for no reason. 200bb for disturbing the peace. Police Impersonation 200bb for Police Impersonation
Section 2.2: Arrestable Offenses
2.2.1. Arrestable offences are offences where the suspect may be arrested for committing them. An officer may ticket for these offences if they feel it would be safer. These offences alone cannot result in a warrant.
2.2.2. Current arrestable offences include: Possession of 2 or more unlicensed weapons. 3 minutes of jail time per weapon. Possession of 1 or more illegal items as defined in Part 3, Section 3.1, 3.1.3. Police may carry grenades, charges, raw explosives, rockets and missiles but not the other illegal items. 5 minutes of jail time per item. Possession of any banned weapons as defined in Part 3, Section 3.1, 3.1.2, by a civilian. 7 minutes of jail time per illegal weapon. All police officers and the Mayor may use these weapons. The Mayor is restricted from using explosive launchers and light machine guns, however. Having tickets that have not been paid for within an hour of them being given. 5 minutes of jail time per unpaid ticket. Stealing vehicles. 10 minutes of jail time if witnessed. Reckless driving. 3 minutes of jail time. The sale of weapons by a non-weaponsmith to another non-weaponsmith. 10 minutes of jail time if witnessed. Contempt of court, as ordered by a judge. Jail time is to be decided at the Judge’s pleasure. Impersonation of a police officer by wearing more then 2 articles of police clothing, Mayor excluded. 4 minutes of jail time per article of police clothing. A police officer wearing the clothes reserved for those ranked higher than them is illegal. Being arrested for a warrant. 15 minutes of jail time. Being under the influence of any illegal drug or narcotic. 5 minutes of jail time per drug class used. (i.e 5 minutes for being high on berries, 10 for being high on berries and glue)
Section 2.3: Warrantable Offenses
2.3.1. Warrantable offences are offences where the player committing them may have a warrant set on them. If a warrant can not be set, the officer may arrest instead. These offences can not be ticketed for.
2.3.2. Current warrantable offences include: Murder of any player that is not in self-defence (non-KOS). Assault of a player that is not in self-defence (non-KOS). Evading an arrest. Weapons trafficking (more than 6 unlicensed and/or illegal weapons). Robbing, raiding or kidnapping with a testimony from a living person who witnessed the act. The arrest or warrant must be carried out within 6 minutes of the event occurring. Carrying more than 4 illegal items total in any combination, except for unlicensed weapons. Having 5 or more outstanding tickets. The possession of any vehicle declared illegal in Part 2, Section 3.3, 3.2.2 by anyone who isn’t a police officer. Perjury, by lying in a court case. Dealing Drugs
Section 2.4: Demotion
2.4.1. An officer may be demoted if any of the following conditions are met, but this is to be left to the interpretation of the person handling the demotion.
2.4.2. If an officer is falsely demoted, the person who issued the demotion may be demoted themselves.
2.4.3. Current reasons for demotion are: Committing any arrestable offence without a valid excuse. Committing any warrantable offence. Failing to comply with direct, lawful orders from an officer higher-ranked than them. Failure to do police duties in a professional manner. Committing a false arrest. Corruption, with valid evidence. The sale of police vehicles or clothing to anybody who is not part of law enforcement. The sale of weapons as an officer to anybody who isn’t a weaponsmith. Opposing to trash items that are illegal. Being out of uniform completely without a Captain’s or Deputy's exception. Refusing to use an arrest instead of a ticket even when the situation is safe on multiple occasions.
Section 2.5: Common Sense
2.5.1. Common sense laws do exist, such as public discharge and reckless driving. These are all situation based and up to officer discretion. Do not abuse these situations.
Part 3: Prohibited Objects
Section 3.1: Illegal Weapons & Items, Mayors cannot edit
3.1.1. Illegal weapons have been made illegal as they have no reason to be possessed by civilians and/or are used in raids. Illegal items have been made illegal for the same reason.
3.1.2. Current illegal weapons and items are:
Shotguns: Bluntforce, Determinator, Quadbarrel, Devil's Bane

Explosive launchers: Rocket Launcher

Light machine guns: Dragonfang, Nykorev, Hell’s fury

Rifles: Grizzly, Ekho, Matamorez, Timberwolf
Miscellaneous: Desert Falcon, Shadowstalker

Any high-calibre weapons

Current illegal items are:
Narcotics: Berries, Glue, Morphine, Adrenaline

Explosives: Grenades of any kind, Raw explosives, Rockets, Missiles

Miscellaneous: Stealy wheelies, Police Clothing, Spec ops clothing
Section 3.2: Illegal Vehicles
3.2.1. Illegal vehicles have been made illegal as they are either used for
police or have weapons that use high calibre ammunition.
3.2.2. Current illegal vehicles are: Police Vehicles: Police car Police helicopter Police launch Armoured police truck Police motorcycle Armed vehicles. (Any vehicles with an autocannon, HMG or
missile launcher.)
Part 4: Execution of the Law
Section 4.1: Search Warrants
4.1.1. Players MAY DENY a search of their base by police unless a search
warrant is issued by the current Mayor.
Section 4.2: Jailing and Bail
4.2.1. Maximum jail is now set to 15 mins, and maximum bail is 2000
Section 5.1: Impoundable Vehicles
5.1. Police Chief+ can impound vehicles based on the following rules
5.1.1 Vehicles that are blocking the street can be impounded Vehicles that are parked on the side of the street can be impounded only if left for over 10 minutes.
5.1.2 Vehicles used by any criminal party inside of an RP Event can be impounded after that RP Event is over.
5.1.3 Vehicles that are illegal, as defined in Section 3.2 of this document.
5.1.4 You absolutely cannot impound the vehicle for any reason not listed here and will be punished by Staff if you do so.

These are not subject to change

-Player and/or group bases are limited to a maximum of 2 stories high and dimensions of up to 3x3 within 100m of city limits/borders

----City limits/borders are determined by the location of prebuilt structures in the city's outskirts

----A range finder may be used to determine a player's base location in relation to city limits.

-Owners of buildings that fall outside of these restrictions must be given up to 24 hours to ensure their buildings are within legal limits. Failure to comply may result in the building being destroyed by admins.

-Bases larger than 5x in each horizontal axis or taller than 3 stories within 100m of city limits may be destroyed by admins.

-Bases larger than 5x in each horizontal axis or taller than 3 stories outside of city limits may be destroyed by admins.
-Bases may be combined or exceed the maximum permitted size with administrator approval only. These exceptions are made for buildings located outside of city limits and permission is granted to groups that play a vital role in RP
