I believe 1500 XP would be way too much to receive every round. You wouldn't need to ever care about what skills you are maxing out. Just 800ish XP is enough to max out every important skill for Arena.
250 experience would let you max out cardio and exercise, and you'd still have a bit left over to customize further, or you could spend your XP, in a different way. Plus in the future we could add more rewards and different ways to get XP if needed, without it going overboard.
As of right now Arena players have the option of getting 1000 XP every 10 minutes, which isn't an efficient way to adjust your skills when you actually need to. Some players don't even use kit XP or might not know it exists. Lower and more reasonable XP amounts at the start of every round compensates for having to wait 10 minutes to get 1000XP when you only really needed a couple hundred. By awarding XP every round, all players would be notified that they've received some XP. This would cause more players to make use of XP on Arena, as new players wouldn't need to know what an XP kit is or even how it works.
I was testing the plugin with Mushy earlier and it's very close to a finished state. It works like this:
- Every time a round ends, you're awarded some XP that you can use during intermission to get ready for the next round.
- If you win the round, you're awarded extra XP, but not an enormous amount.
- If you win again the next round, you get to keep any remaining XP you got from winning the previous round.
- If you lose a round, you still receive the default XP amount that all players receive once the round ends, and any leftover XP from winning the previous round gets removed.
If we set the new-round and winner XP awards to fair and reasonable values, it could work out pretty well.
